User Tiers & Voting Power

Configure credit-based voting with tier weights

User tiers in UserVote allow you to give different customers different voting power. Enterprise customers can have more influence than free users, creating a weighted feedback system.

Understanding Tiers

Tiers determine:

Vote Weight:

  • How much each vote counts
  • Enterprise: 3x weight
  • Pro: 2x weight
  • Free: 1x weight

Credit Allocation:

  • Monthly/yearly credits
  • Per-product distribution

Priority:

  • Idea visibility rules
  • Response priority

Default Tiers

UserVote comes with default tiers:

  • Ensures historical accuracy

Example:

  • User votes as Enterprise (3x)
  • Later downgraded to Free
  • Original vote remains 3x

Credit Distribution

Per-Product Credits:

  • Different products can have different allocations
  • e.g., Core Product: 20 credits, Beta: 5 credits

Credit Reset:

  • Monthly reset on billing date
  • Or manual reset by admin

Unused Credits:

  • Roll over (configurable)
  • Or expire each period
