Product Visibility
Understanding how product access works in UserVote
UserVote uses a visibility system to control who can see and interact with each product. This ensures that sensitive feedback channels remain private while public products are accessible to all users.
Visibility Levels
Products can have three visibility levels:
| Level | Who Can Access | Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| PUBLIC | All authenticated users | General product feedback |
| RESTRICTED | Users with explicit access grants | Beta products, partner-only |
| INTERNAL | Employees only | Internal tools, employee ideas |
Your ability to see a product depends on both the visibility level and any access grants you may have.
Public Products
What are Public Products?
Public products are visible to any authenticated user. Once you log in to UserVote, you can:
- View all public product listings
- Browse ideas within public products
- Vote on ideas (using your vote credits)
- Submit new ideas

- Follow the product for updates
Best For:
- Main product lines

- Open community discussions
Restricted Products
What are Restricted Products?
Restricted products require explicit access to view. You must be granted access by an administrator.
How to Get Access:
- Contact your account administrator
- Request access to the specific product
- Once granted, the product appears in your product list
Access Types:
- Direct Grant: Access given to you individually
- Group Grant: Access through your customer group
- Role-Based: Access based on your role
If You Can't See a Product:
If you expect to see a product but don't:

Internal Products
What are Internal Products?
Internal products are exclusively for employees and team members. These are not visible to customers.
